After saying goodbye to our first customer, we set off on the long drive to the next appointment. Unfortunately, we were diverted, which delayed our arrival time by about an hour. Nevertheless, we were not discouraged and finally arrived at the customer.

There we had a detailed conversation with the plant manager and managing director about work shoes and other PPE. It turned out that hand and foot protection was a particularly important focus for her. Our presentation was convincing and we were even able to pass on samples to the customer.

After a long and successful day, we finally returned to our accommodation at 10:00 pm. Although the day was exhausting and we often got stuck in traffic jams during the car journeys and had to follow detours, it was still exciting to gather new impressions and inspire customers.

For me as an intern, it was a valuable experience to get to know the working life of a sales representative. The day showed me that this job can be challenging, but also offers many exciting opportunities. Now I'm looking forward to ending the evening on the couch and reflecting on my experiences. I am grateful that I had the chance to participate in this day and learn from experienced colleagues. I learned how important it is to be flexible and adapt to unforeseen situations.

I also realized that success in sales doesn't just depend on hard facts, but is also influenced by how you deal with customers. Conversations with customers have shown that it often takes more than a good product or service – namely empathy and understanding of their needs. This is the only way to build long-term relationships and sell successfully. Overall, this day was a valuable lesson for me personally and professionally.

It has increased my motivation to work even harder in the future to expand my knowledge in order to be able to carry out such customer appointments independently at some point. I will always remember this experience!
