Even though the vast majority of Christmas markets are cancelled, we as protection professionals at least want to welcome the New Year with good cheer.

What we should all definitely be aware of: The partial lockdown is being extended and Chancellor Angela Merkel announced on Wednesday evening, November 25: "We assume that the restrictions will have to apply until the beginning of January." As a result of this measure, not only hotels and restaurants, but also many companies are closing their doors. Many people do without Christmas parties and festivals. The family may be visited during the holidays, but within a limited framework.

At the current time, a maximum of ten people are allowed to meet during the holidays. In the period from 23.12 - 01.01, these contact restrictions apply with one exception, because children under the age of 14 are not counted, which means that larger families can also meet. Nevertheless, many retailers have personally decided not to sell any firecrackers.
