The corona crisis has turned many areas of everyday life and working life upside down. Every individual experiences this every day. As areas where this is the case, disposable gloves, respirators, disposable overalls and protective clothing should only be mentioned here as examples. In the following, only the effects of the Corona crisis on disposable gloves will be discussed. The focus is on our customers.
AAV: Leading Distributor for Semperguard Disposable Gloves
For many years, we at AAV GmbH have been regarded as a reliable supplier of disposable gloves from the manufacturer Semperit in both the technical and medical sectors. The corona crisis is changing the situation for users, retailers and manufacturers worldwide. Since the situation has become extremely acute again in recent weeks, we consider it our duty to inform you as a customer up-to-date.
How is Semperit dealing with the crisis? What does AAV do?
Due to the almost explosive increase in customer demand, both at Semperit and at AAV, the demand cannot be met according to the same scheme as in the past. That's why there will be delivery problems for the foreseeable future. Semperit produces its gloves under the Sempercare and Semperguard brands in Austria as well as Hungary (surgical gloves) and Malaysia (disposable gloves and examination gloves).
Unlike most other suppliers in the German market, however, Semperit is known to have its own factories and thus has an advantage. Semperit is not dependent on acquisitions (unlike many other suppliers whose products are bought-in "private label" products). Semperit is currently optimally increasing the production capacity of its plants, both through production technology and organisational measures. This includes, among other things, the short-term hiring of more production employees, expansion of shift operation, ensuring the supply of the required raw materials due to the increased production volume. Likewise, due to priorities in the production changeover, some items (e.g. the Semperguard articles latex powdered, Nitrile Style Black, Nitrile Xpert Black and Nitrile Xtension) will only be available in reduced quantities.
Price development for disposable gloves at AAV GmbH
Due to the changes described above and increased raw material costs, we, like the industry association MARGMA, expect increased production costs of around 30%. Nevertheless, our declared goal is to ensure your supply of Semperit gloves in the quality you are familiar with.
The purchasing department of AAV GmbH is in constant contact with Semperit and makes the best possible use of production optimisation. Regular container deliveries have already been confirmed for the coming months. Unfortunately, however, there may still be delays here.
