The time has come, the new resolutions will come into force in all federal states as of today. As protection professionals, we want to provide information about what exactly has changed and what needs to be taken into account. Important: The previous decisions of the federal and state governments continue to apply.

The world is holding its breath, at least that's how it feels to many people. In addition to our Chancellor, our heads of government and state leaders ask that all social contacts be limited to the absolutely necessary minimum over the next three weeks. This does not mean that there is a contact ban, but a reminder of the personal responsibility of our Mitbürger_innen. The best option is for everyone to stay at home as much as possible. It should only be in the circle of relatives and it is only allowed to meet exclusively with a person who does not live in the household.

"The aim is to significantly reduce the risk of infection."

As protection professionals, we in particular were convinced of wearing mouth-nose coverings from the beginning of the pandemic. Now the measures of the federal government go one step further, especially against the background of possible particularly contagious mutations. As of today, the wearing of medical masks (i.e. so-called surgical masks or masks of the KN95/N95 or FFP2 standards) is mandatory in all federal states.

What will continue to be mandatory?

This now specifies the mandatory obligation to wear a mouth-nose cover on public transport and in closed rooms of businesses and shops. The obligation to wear medical masks also expressly applies to associated parking spaces.

As there is increasing evidence that the B.1.1.7 mutation of the SARS-CoV2 virus is spreading more and more among adolescents and children, schools and kindergartens will also remain closed until further notice. But old people's and nursing homes must now also take even more protective measures. The staff and residents are also to be protected by an "FFP2 folder obligation".

As an employer, we have been asked by the federal government to send all employees who are able to do so to work from home. This reduces contacts at the workplace. Of course, we implemented this months ago, as the health of our employees is very important to us.

Stay healthy and confident
