Assembly gloves are an essential part of PPE and should therefore be used when working in all assembly areas to protect hands from potential hazards. This includes working with materials that have sharp edges or during activities where the skin comes into contact with oils or fats. Today, the protection professionals from Allprotec® take a detailed look at the topic of assembly gloves.

What is so special about assembly gloves?

Since many assembly gloves today are made of special technical materials, they are particularly durable and offer users a high level of protection. High-quality assembly gloves are usually made of a combination of different materials, such as nylon, polyester or special fibers. The knitted glove is supplemented with a coating which usually consists of latex, nitrile or PU. They not only protect against cuts and abrasions, but also prevent the skin from coming into contact with dirt, such as oily surfaces.

In addition, the gloves are available in different sizes, thus offering an individual fit for each user. Size plays a decisive role in the selection of suitable protective gloves. Only if a glove fits well and is worn with pleasure can it offer optimal protection and comfort.

What are assembly gloves for?

Assembly gloves are therefore a perfect protection when carrying out assembly work or other mechanical work in a dry environment. These gloves protect the hands and skin from abrasions, for example. They both protect the user from mechanical hazards and at the same time help to make the workflow more efficient. Therefore, it is advisable to always have gloves at hand in the work environment and to change them regularly to ensure optimal protection. Damaged or cracked assembly gloves should be disposed of, as only undamaged gloves can provide the highest possible protection.

When you have to do a job where precision and safety are important, such as in the assembly area, thin and flexible gloves are indispensable. Assembly gloves are designed to protect the user's hands and give them maximum freedom of movement. They are knitted seamlessly, have a soft and flexible palm with an abrasion-resistant coating that ensures a firm grip. This means that even with heavy tasks, only a small amount of force has to be used.

"There are even double-dipped assembly gloves. What this means can be read in our article on the double DIPPI," says Sonia Niedhart (Managing Director)

What is important for assembly gloves?

In addition, it is important that the glove has a perfect fit. Thanks to seamless processing technologies, it adapts individually to the anatomy of the hand and wrist of users of all sizes and enables a good fit when operating tools. A breathable fabric also ensures that you hardly sweat in the glove. This keeps the skin dry and the user's comfort is maintained – even if they have to wear gloves for long periods of time.

Assembly gloves not only protect users from injury, but also make work more pleasant and efficient. With the right gloves, personal protective equipment is not perceived as an annoying evil, but as a necessary aid to complete the tasks.
