Today began my last day in the warehouse of AAV GmbH. I entered the camp punctually at 8 o'clock in the morning and was warmly welcomed by the staff. Mike showed me around the sprawling camp and explained the various tasks I would be doing during the day. I was impressed with the size of the warehouse and the amount of items that were stored there. For this purpose, I also received the necessary personal protective equipment, which is mandatory in the camp. I was given suitable safety shoes and also a pair of gloves, which we had already offered during customer visits.
My first task was to search for the required items from the warehouse using an order form. It was important to find the items in the right order and to pick them in the right storage locations. I found this task extremely interesting because I was able to learn so much about the different products and their uses. After finding the items, I carefully packed them and prepared them for shipping.
What particularly impressed me was the efficiency of the warehouse staff. Despite the enormous amount of items and orders, they always kept track of everything and were able to find the desired products immediately when needed. At 12 o'clock I left the warehouse and helped Jürgen to process further customer orders. It was interesting to see how the orders were received and processed in order to prepare them for shipping.
At 1:15 p.m., my last day of internship at AAV GmbH ended. Looking back, I am very satisfied with my experience in the warehouse. I was able to learn a lot about the workflows and tasks in a wholesaler for occupational health and safety and already pack some orders and prepare them for the parcel service. This experience was extremely valuable for me and gave me an insight into the overall process of a trading company.
