Avoiding injuries during the move should be the top priority. With the many different people involved in a move, unforeseeable occurrences often occur. In order to be able to change residence without accidents, the Schutzprofils have compiled a few tips.
Accident-free in the new rooms
No matter who planned the move, it always takes many hard-working hands to lend a hand and bring the move to a successful end. Relatives, friends or neighbours often lend a hand. But work colleagues or acquaintances are also welcome moving helpers. As a professional moving company, our employees are equipped with the necessary protective clothing to prevent accidents. For private individuals, the protection professionals have simply tested what it is like to plan a move and to carry it out without accidents.
Untroubled moving event without injuries
Despite full attention and moving helpers who pay very close attention, a small accident can happen quickly and the often unforeseeable problems can result in health impairments that no one wants. That's why the security professionals have organized a move themselves and can give great tips on prevention from their own experience.
Classic among the moving injuries
- Bruises & Cuts & Stab Wounds
- on hands & forearms
- on the soles of the feet, toes and upper feet
- Torn ligaments and strains in the legs
- Falls & Bone Fractures
- Bumps & bruises on the head
- Pinched nerves & herniated discs
Prevention for an accident-free move
Of course, the right amount of mindfulness is one of the best tips for an accident-free move. But in the heat of the moment, this is not always the case. Even a professional moving company is not always the solution. How about a few occupational safety products that every household can use anyway?
"In a well-stocked household, a good safety glove is always useful," says Sonia Niedhart, Managing Director of AAV GmbH.
Avoid accidents during the move
A well-balanced time frame, clear communication and no time stress are the top priorities when moving. Just in case, a laugh and a little joke is always perfect to keep the mood and the movers happy.
Sturdy shoes are the be-all and end-all
Firm and closed shoes are very important for a move. This means that it is best to wear work safety or safety shoes, or at least wear sturdy sneakers for the move. Especially on slippery floors or with heavy loads, a firm foothold and a safe roll are particularly important. This protects you from torn ligaments and strains in your legs.
Wear non-slip gloves
Since everything has to be touched, lifted, held and carried with the hands, special attention must be paid to the protection of the hands. During our relocation test, we tested various gloves from the Allprotec range and were able to clearly see that the more stable and grippy the gloves are, the less force and effort had to be used. This alone reduced the risk of accidents enormously. Because everything that doesn't slip out of your hands can't fall on your foot.
#Sicher Lifting and carrying
Back-friendly lifting and carrying is not an art, but a must for every move. Of course, filling the boxes is also an important part of this, because the boxes should all be equally weighted so that the difference is not too big. An emergency box always as a reserve
Every move is the same, as soon as you have cleared out the apartment, the annoying search for the one box, or the possible box in which the most important utensils are, begins. How about simply putting the most important things, such as scissors, knives, cups, toilet paper, tissues, plasters, bottle openers and adhesive tape, in a separate box beforehand and placing it as an emergency box in a freely accessible place? So everyone knows where the most important things are and can get to them quickly.
Final tip for a successful move
Last but not least, a note. With so many friendly supporters, a heartfelt thank you and also a good stomach filler, in the form of a hearty snack and a fulfilling farewell dinner, is a good way to end the procession and appreciate the work.
