What does Infinergy® do?

In the warehouse or in the freight forwarding sector, you are on your feet for several hours every day. And every day, the pedometer shows significantly more than 10,000 steps. Then in the evening the legs and feet are sometimes thick and tired. For some people, their joints also hurt in the long run. In many jobs, however, it is mandatory to wear safety shoes. So what to do?

For a comfortable fit, safety shoes must fit well. They should also be light and breathable. Safety shoes with an Infinergy® midsole help to absorb energy much better. Compared to a traditional sole, the Infinergy® sole supports a feeling of lightness and freedom of movement. This can lead to a reduction in muscle and joint diseases and significantly less fatigue of the legs and feet after a long day at work.

Where is Infinergy® used?

 Infinergy® from BASF is used in a wide range of applications in the sports and leisure sector. Among other things, the material is used in running shoes, treadmills and bicycles. For several years now, Infinergy has also been used in occupational safety. Examples of applications include knee and joint protection, cushioning mats and midsoles in safety shoes.

The shoe manufacturer U-Power has relied on a collaboration with BASF and integrated Infinergy® into the outsoles of its safety shoes. Infinergy® is a TPU (TPU-E = expanded thermoplastic polyurethane) which provides extreme cushioning. But what exactly is Infinergy® and what are the benefits of this material?

U-Power: lightweight and comfortable safety shoes

From the new Red360 series from U-Power, the protection professionals present the Ryder S1P ESD safety shoe with Infinergy® sole in this blog post. For indoor work, the Ryder with protection class S1P is very suitable. The Save & Flex® PLUS textile puncture-resistant midsole protects the feet against pointed or sharp objects. The AirToe protective cap is made of aluminium with a breathable membrane. With these protective elements, the Ryder S1P ESD safety shoe weighs only 605 grams (per piece in size 42).

The upper of this sporty safety shoe Ryder is made of a soft and high-quality suede with inserts made of breathable nylon. For even more comfortable wearing, the safety shoe is equipped with a Lycra collar. This means that the shoe sits optimally on the foot and offers a high level of comfort, almost like a sneaker. This is rounded off by the breathable heel protection, which reduces twisting of the ankle.
