They are in use day after day, but not everyone knows how to use them correctly. Do you know what happens if your personal protective equipment (PPE) is improperly modified or used incorrectly and an accident occurs?
Does the accident insurance cover expire?
The statutory accident insurance cover expires. They thus lose their entitlement to the benefits of the statutory accident insurance.
You didn't know that? They are not alone in this. Do you think this is important?
So do we! Because we are protective professionals for PPE, workwear and occupational safety.
Why is this regulated?
Hard to believe with the many regulations, guidelines and DIN standards.
With PPE, it makes sense.
The products are tested for protective properties for certain situations and certified accordingly if suitable. With every change, the product property changes and the certification no longer applies. This is comparable to the unauthorized opening of devices. This will void the warranty!
In itself, that's clear. But you are not always aware of it. In order for protective equipment or PPE to do its job, it must be used correctly. This includes regular replacement, proper care and the expertise of what their protective equipment does.
Tip from the protection professional:
- No modification of protective equipment
- Pay attention to care, storage instructions and the best-before date
- Please note what the PPE is suitable for, for example in the data sheet
- Protective equipment is a consumable, not a fashion accessory
