Designing sustainably. Work professionally protected. Sustainability will no longer be a fashion in 2026. It is attitude. Green DIY stands for conscious design, resource-saving work and creative repair instead of throwing away.

Upcycling, visible mending and artisanal techniques will experience a new heyday in spring 2026. Old furniture is reinterpreted, favorite pieces are visibly repaired, materials are reused instead of disposed of. Retro meets modern sustainability. Function meets individuality.

But despite all the creativity, the following applies:

Sustainability does not end with the material – it begins with responsibility for one's own safety.
Because every DIY project involves movement, dust, tools and physical strain. Anyone who works sustainably should uncompromisingly rely on tested safety.

Upcycling is a craft – not a hobby
  • Green DIY doesn't mean "applying a bit of paint".
  • It means grinding, sawing, disassembling, assembling, repairing, rebuilding.
  • Wood scraps become shelves.
  • Metal parts into design objects.
  • Fabric sections to functional accessories.

This results in dust pollution, cutting hazards, heavy loads and long work units.
Professional PPE turns a creative idea into a safe project.

Hand protection with precision

The Allprotec® Edge Guard B Fine Knit Glove offers reliable cut protection with high dexterity at the same time – ideal for sanding, dismantling or handling sharp-edged materials.

For painting, cleaning or assembly work with sensitive surfaces, the Semperguard® Nitrile Green Disposable Glove – Robust, powder-free and comfortable to wear. Made of sustainable nitrile rubber, these gloves offer reliable skin protection and at the same time rely on environmentally friendly production.

Chemical accelerators and chlorine are deliberately avoided, which reduces the risk of contact allergies and makes them particularly suitable for sensitive skin. In addition, 12% less water is used during production and CO₂ emissions are reduced by 17% – a clear contribution to greater sustainability.

Sustainable materials meet modern PPE

Green DIY relies on recycled materials and durable raw materials. This idea is increasingly being found in modern workwear. The Planam® trousers rECOline combines functionality with a sustainable material strategy – robustly processed, durable and suitable for everyday use.

The SORONA® material used is an innovative, partly bio-based polymer and represents a more sustainable alternative to conventional synthetic fibers. It consists of 37% renewable vegetable raw materials, such as corn starch. At the same time, it impresses with its high resistance and durability. The fiber provides durable elasticity, provides breathable insulation and reduces the formation of pilling. In addition, the material dries quickly and is particularly easy to clean.

The Portwest® T-Shirt EC195 made of organic cotton combines comfort with resource conservation - breathable, recyclable and comfortable to wear. Sustainability here does not mean renunciation – but intelligent design and extended service life.

Safety starts with the feet

DIY projects are often close to the ground. It is lifted, carried, shifted. The U-Power® Island WOW2 S3 CI SRC ESD offers protection class S3, cold insulation and ESD protection – plus CO₂-neutral production. Stability meets sustainability. The CO₂-neutrally certified safety shoe from the U-Power Red Industry Green line with a clear focus on sustainability. The upper material is made of particularly abrasion-resistant, water-repellent and breathable PUTEK with a high recycled content. The puncture-resistant Save & Flex PLUS GREEN midsole and the WOW2 GREEN footbed are also designed for resource-saving materials. The PU/PU outsole is made of regeneratively produced PU from BASF. Safe footwear is not a detail. It is the basis for efficient work.

Don't forget respiratory protection

Sanding dust, old coatings, wood particles – they are part of everyday DIY life.
The FFP2 Respirator with Valve reliably protects against dust-intensive work and increases wearing comfort during longer projects thanks to the valve. Working sustainably and safely also means staying healthy in the long term.

Green DIY needs systematic security

Whether it's visible mending, furniture restoration or creative conversion – sustainable projects are technically challenging.

  • Cut protection for precise work
  • Respiratory protection in case of dust pollution
  • Robust, sustainable workwear
  • Safe footwear for heavy materials
  • Those who work in a protected manner remain productive.
  • Those who remain efficient work cleaner, more efficiently and more responsibly.

Sustainability means responsibility – also for oneself

  • Resource conservation is important.
  • Repairing instead of throwing away makes sense.
  • Creative design is fun.
  • But sustainability does not end with the material.
  • It starts with your own safety.

Those who rely on durable products in the PPE sector not only protect the environment, but also resources.
Green DIY 2026 stands for conscious action – and Omniprotect accompanies this claim with functional PPE and modern workwear that combines protection, sustainability and design.

Designing sustainably. Work professionally protected. Green DIY – for sure.
