Not so long ago, the government and the federal states agreed on interesting Corona rules for Christmas and New Year's Eve in order to break the chains of infection and counteract the pandemic. Even though the vast majority of Christmas markets are cancelled, we as protection professionals at least want to welcome the New Year with good cheer.
For many people, isolation during the holidays due to a lockdown would be a horror scenario.
Travel on the holidays
What we should all definitely be aware of: The partial lockdown is being extended and Chancellor Angela Merkel announced on Wednesday evening, November 25: "We assume that the restrictions will have to apply until the beginning of January." As a result of this measure, not only hotels and restaurants, but also many companies are closing their doors. Many people do without Christmas parties and festivals. The family may be visited during the holidays, but within a limited framework.
General information for New Year's Eve celebrations
At the current time, a maximum of ten people are allowed to meet during the holidays. In the period from 23.12 - 01.01, these contact restrictions apply with one exception, because children under the age of 14 are not counted, which means that larger families can also meet. But beware, depending on the federal state, there may be exceptions and further restrictions are already being discussed.

There was a lot of speculation as to whether fireworks and firecrackers should be dispensed with this year. In addition to the well-known reasons why rockets and firecrackers are not necessarily positive, there is no official ban on firecrackers during this special time. Nevertheless, many retailers have personally decided not to sell any firecrackers.
