The everyday life of an internship at Allprotec® proves to be more strenuous than a day at school. But my supervisor and mentor Jürgen managed to involve me from the beginning and drive away my initial tiredness. We are now on a first-name basis, which makes cooperation much easier.

I had a personal conversation with the managing director, Mrs. Sonia Niedhart, and she offered me the first name. It's great how warmly you are treated at AAV.

Today we started with the daily tasks of a sales representative. We checked incoming e-mails and filtered the orders, which I then entered together with Jürgen.

Since Jürgen has been training new employees in the last few weeks, there is a weekly Microsoft Teams meeting, which I attended as a listener. I found the contributions of the new employees particularly interesting, as I could also encounter such problems at some point. However, Jürgen was not satisfied with the solution to the problem and he explained to me that he would like to train this in a more targeted way in the short term. He then showed me how to organize a Microsoft Teams meeting, which we then planned for the coming Thursday.

After completing the daily tasks, Jürgen showed me how to carry out new customer acquisition on the phone. I noticed that some interested parties who have not yet bought from AAV were in a bad mood or rushed to block the conversation. I realized that acquiring new customers is a major challenge in sales.
We also called existing customers to inquire about their needs. That was more relaxed, because the customers know Jürgen. We then entered the results of these calls into Amicron.

After an extensive refreshment, I entered an order while Jürgen looked over my shoulder. Since we will be on the road in the field from Monday to Friday, we discussed the necessary preparations:

  • What is the goal of the appointment at AAV?
  • What patterns are needed?
  • What information material is needed?
  • What preparations can I make before the appointment to ensure a smooth process?
  • Have I informed myself about the customers to visit?
  • Do I have all the addresses of the customers, including the telephone numbers of the contact persons?
  • Do I have to pack my suitcase (for business trips lasting several days)?
  • Are the accommodations organized?

After we had made all the preparations, we loaded most of the things into Jürgen's company vehicle.

CONCLUSION OF THE DAY:

Overall, I can be very proud of myself, as I have already been able to enter some orders independently. I really enjoy gaining knowledge and continuing my education in this profession. I am already looking forward to getting to know the customers we will be visiting in the near future.
