In winter, it often happens that you have cold feet, which can have many different reasons. Women tend to have more problems at this time of year, this is simply due to the physical condition.

Attention, cold feet!

This is usually due to body and muscle mass. Of course, other factors, such as temperature perception, also play a role, which of course can also fall back on men. There is a relatively simple reason why you get cold feet in the cold seasons. The body tries to maintain the core temperature of the organs, the brain and generally all vital things.

The blood flow in the foot

In addition, the blood flow in the extremities is slowed down, feet and hands lose temperature. There are some helpful tips against cold feet, which can also protect against infectious diseases. How best to deal with it and what you can do about it, we will tell you in the next sentences.

Tips for warm feet

  • Warm winter shoes should have a stable rubber sole that is as thick as possible. This then protects against moisture and cold from below.
  • Wet feet naturally get cold much faster than dry ones, in order to protect yourself from this and also enjoy longer walks in the snow, shoes with lambskin or high-tech lining are ideal.
  • If the shoe has a flat sole, or the wearer is quite sensitive to the cold, an insole also helps as a buffer.
  • The winter boots must not be too tight, otherwise the blood circulation is obstructed, and a layer of air as a buffer between the shoe and the foot provides additional insulation.
  • Toe gymnastics also provides rapid relief to stimulate blood circulation.

Warm work shoes

Smaller tricks such as eating the right food can also provide warmth in the feet. Spicy dishes heat up the body from the inside. However, you should avoid a lot of coffee and cigarettes as much as possible in cold temperatures. Regular alternating baths and warming foot baths also ensure better blood circulation in the feet - and are also relaxing.
