⚠️ Information on prices and delivery times ⚠️

Dear customers,

In this post, we would like to inform you about important changes related to our deliveries and their impact on prices and delivery times. As you may already know, current geopolitical events are leading to significant challenges in global logistics.

1. Changes in shipping routes and their effects

Due to safety concerns in the Red Sea and especially in the area of the Suez Canal, many shipping companies have decided to choose the longer sea route around the Cape of Good Hope. This decision significantly extends transit times for deliveries from Asia to Europe – from about eight to ten weeks. This change will lead to a capacity bottleneck of around 25% and will result in ships being booked out more quickly and shifts in schedules.

2. Increased freight costs and surcharges

Due to the extended transit times and the associated higher risks, many shipping companies have introduced additional surcharges. These can be referred to as "War Risk Surcharge" or "Emergency Peak Season Surcharge" (PSS) and can also affect shipments that have already been booked.

3. Effects on delivery times and prices

Supply chain delays and increased costs are forcing us to adjust our prices. We are facing an increase in ocean freight rates of approximately 400% compared to mid-2023. Unfortunately, we do not expect the situation to improve in the second quarter either.

4. What does this mean for your orders?

We advise you to check your stock levels and adjust your pre-planning accordingly. Extremely expensive freight surcharges may be required for urgent deliveries, but these are often not in good proportion to the value of the goods. We are happy to offer you support with warehousing by means of annual call-offs.

5. Contact and support

We are continuously monitoring the situation and will inform you of any significant changes. For further information and individual concerns, we are available to you as usual. Feel free to contact us by phone +49 (0) 511 / 679 997 0 or by e-mail to info@aav-arbeitsschutz.de.

We thank you for your understanding and flexibility in these challenging times. Rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to minimise the impact on your business.

Best regards,

Sonia Niedhart
